Sr. Tech Lead, Life & Annuity Systems (Mainframe)

Location: Addison, Texas, or Montpelier, Vermont; onsite four days per week on Monday through Thursday. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $118,125–$173,250 USD per year.

What you will do

• Lead technology teams in delivering end-to-end solutions for life and annuity insurance policy administration systems.
• Provide technical guidance on solution selection, application development, configuration, implementation, and support.
• Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and development teams to define standards, processes, and technical roadmaps.
• Evaluate technology feasibility and trade-offs, estimate delivery costs and schedules, and ensure solutions meet business requirements.
• Identify application transformation and rationalization opportunities for a simpler, modernized system platform.
• Develop and maintain application design, testing, and release management processes while meeting service levels.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant professional experience.
• 10+ years of full software development lifecycle experience in an IBM Mainframe environment.
• Experience with COBOL, JCL, SQL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, ISPF/PDF, FILE-AID, MVS, and Endevor.
• 3+ years leading product or project development teams on the Vantage policy administration platform is preferred.
• Strong analytical, conceptual, organizational, leadership, collaboration, and change-management skills.
• Ability to work in a complex, matrixed, heavily outsourced organization and manage IT suppliers cost-effectively.
