Principal Solution Architect, Data (FPRS & CSWM)

Location: Hybrid — three days per week at a Guardian location in Holmdel, NJ; New York, NY; or Bethlehem, PA. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Salary: $152,290–$250,195 base pay, plus potential incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Define enterprise and business solution architecture strategies, standards, reference architectures, reusable patterns, and architectural guardrails.
• Lead complex design decisions spanning platforms, domains, value streams, and business units while addressing dependencies, risks, scalability, security, and compliance.
• Design modern data platforms and pipelines supporting real-time and batch processing, data integration, analytics, and reusable data products.
• Drive adoption of a data product operating model, including ownership, discoverability, interoperability, governance, observability, lineage, metadata, and data quality.
• Collaborate with business, product, engineering, AI, cybersecurity, platform, and enterprise architecture teams to translate strategy into scalable solutions.
• Mentor architects and senior engineers, influence stakeholders without direct authority, and participate in architecture reviews and high-impact production incident response.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in data integration, data architecture, data modeling, data engineering, solution architecture, or enterprise technology.
• Enterprise-scale experience designing data platforms, data products, analytics capabilities, architecture standards, and reusable frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of data mesh, data products, metadata, governance, domain-driven design, APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Kafka, or similar technologies, plus strong Python, PySpark, and SQL skills.
• Experience rolling out AI-enabled solutions and working in regulated or risk-sensitive environments, preferably within the insurance industry.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field, with strong communication, stakeholder management, mentoring, and Agile delivery skills.
