Software Architect (Java/IBM)

Location: Hybrid, with 50% on-site work in Albany or Manhattan; on-site presence in Albany is required during the first week.

Salary: $100,000–$150,000 annually.

What you will do

• Guide high-level technical design and modernization of legacy tax and audit systems.
• Design, implement, maintain, and support complex multi-tiered transactional applications.
• Coordinate technical solutions across support groups and development teams.
• Develop tax processing components, business rules, decision services, and system integrations.
• Analyze production issues, resolve defects, and perform application and SQL performance tuning.
• Prepare technical design documents, guide requirements analysis, and mentor less experienced staff.

Requirements

• At least 84 months of experience with government taxation organizations and tax or audit systems.
• At least 84 months of experience with WebSphere Process Server, IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation, IBM Cloud Pak for Integration, and choreography or orchestration processes.
• At least 84 months of experience with business rules architecture, portable runtime engines, Decision Services, and IBM Automation Decision Services.
• At least 84 months of experience with Java, J2EE, SOA component architecture, JMS, BPEL, Spring, WebSphere Application Server, RAD, and WID.
• At least 84 months of experience with IBM MQ, DB2 data modeling, technical documentation, and database performance tuning; 36 months with Red Hat OpenShift and microservices architecture.
• Applicants must already have U.S. work authorization as U.S. citizens, Green Card holders, EAD holders, or candidates eligible for an H-1B transfer. New H-1B visa petitions cannot be sponsored.
