Tech Lead, Product & Inforce App Development (Mainframe)

Location: Addison, Texas, or Montpelier, Vermont; onsite four days per week on Monday through Thursday.

Salary: $106,875–$156,750 USD annually.

What you will do

• Provide hands-on technical leadership for Product & Inforce initiatives across design, development, integration, implementation, deployment, and support.
• Translate product and business requirements into technical designs aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
• Evaluate technology options and drive application modernization, rationalization, and transformation of legacy platforms.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, business stakeholders, architects, developers, quality engineers, and Scrum Masters in cross-functional teams.
• Manage solution estimation, cost, scheduling, release management, testing, supplier coordination, and delivery risks.
• Apply generative AI to knowledge extraction, documentation, code migration, and AI-assisted engineering while maintaining responsible AI governance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 15+ years of full system development life cycle experience and strong technical leadership in complex environments.
• Expertise in IBM Mainframe technologies, including COBOL, JCL, SQL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, ISPF/PDF, FILE-AID, MVS, and Endevor.
• Experience with life and annuity product systems, especially the Vantage Policy Administration Platform; 15+ years of product-domain experience and 7+ years leading Vantage teams are preferred.
• Strong architecture, integration design, analytical, communication, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Agile methodologies, iterative delivery, and DevOps practices.
• Experience leading teams in matrixed or outsourced environments and managing third-party IT suppliers.
