Lead Consultant, Smart Metering Practice

Location: Remote within the United States; Washington, DC office location indicated

Salary: $153,600–$230,400 annually

What you will do

• Lead large-scale Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) deployment programs from procurement support through deployment completion and operational transition.
• Coordinate utility stakeholders, implementation vendors, contractors, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Develop integrated project plans, cost-loaded schedules, deployment dashboards, KPIs, risk registers, and mitigation plans.
• Oversee vendor performance, contract compliance, change management, invoice review, progress verification, installation sequencing, and quality assurance.
• Manage meter procurement, warehousing, inventory reporting, material availability, installation forecasting, and productivity metrics.
• Lead organizational change, executive reporting, final acceptance, operational readiness, documentation, and post-deployment reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field.
• Active PMP certification required; PE certification is preferred.
• 10+ years of program or project management experience.
• 2+ years of experience managing AMI, smart metering, utility infrastructure, or large-scale technology deployment programs.
• Experience managing programs exceeding $25M, contractors and vendors, project schedules, budgets, KPIs, and risk management plans.
• Experience presenting to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
