Construction Engineer II (Civil Engineering)

Salary: $39.04–$58.56 per hour

What you will do

• Collaborate with the Resident Engineer on daily construction project operations.
• Enforce construction safety rules and regulations.
• Review contract documents, plans, specifications, and applicable standards.
• Document pay quantities, monthly progress payments, and the Final Estimate.
• Draft and track Contract Change Orders and maintain accurate payment records.
• Manage material inspections, certifications, submittals, RFIs, correspondence, project files, meeting records, and closeout documentation according to Caltrans requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in contract administration or inspection of bridge and roadway construction projects.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, including experience working with contractors and sub-consultants.
• OSHA Safety Training Certification or willingness to complete it within 3 months of hire.
• Reliable transportation is required.
