Associate Actuary - North America Property Pricing

Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States; primarily in the office

Salary: $120,000–$150,000 base salary for New York positions; $115,000–$148,000 for New Jersey positions; $110,000–$145,000 for Illinois positions, plus bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Support North America Property pricing across Retail, Lexington, and Canada, streamlining processes across property segments.
• Develop pricing and underwriting strategies with the Chief Underwriting Office, identifying profitable growth opportunities and challenged areas.
• Improve pricing systems, review parameters, and monitor adherence to pricing procedures and methodologies.
• Coordinate pricing, planning, and accumulation management with catastrophe modelers, incorporating expected loss, reinsurance costs, and capital requirements.
• Develop analytical tools and recommendations for underwriters, rating methodologies, pricing parameters, and technical pricing accuracy.
• Partner with pricing and reserving actuaries to assess portfolio risk, reserve development, loss trends, and claims emergence.

Requirements

• At least an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS).
• At least 5 years of commercial lines actuarial experience, preferably including significant commercial property pricing experience.
• Solid understanding of catastrophe modeling fundamentals.
• Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to present concise analyses and recommendations to senior management.
• Strong attention to detail, timeliness, and ability to continuously learn and adapt.
