Junior Electrical Engineer (Building Engineering)

Location: On-site in Albany or Poughkeepsie, New York, United States

Salary: $50,000–$75,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop electrical concepts, strategies, designs, drawings, specifications, and reports as part of a project team.
• Prepare electrical design drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Perform lighting calculations, circuit and feeder calculations, power distribution design, and arc flash studies.
• Design layouts for power, telecommunications, security, and other building systems.
• Conduct field investigations to document existing conditions.
• Support design and construction administration services across education, municipal, healthcare, commercial, and residential projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Interest in building systems and motivation to develop technical knowledge.
• Strong writing, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
• Professional communication and collaboration with engineers, architects, project managers, and other disciplines.

Nice to have

• EIT certification.
• Background in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Experience in the architecture and engineering consulting business.
