Electrical Engineer (Building Projects)

Location: On-site in Albany, New York, or Poughkeepsie, New York, United States

Salary: $75,000–$100,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop electrical concepts, strategies, designs, drawings, specifications, and reports as part of multidisciplinary project teams.
• Prepare electrical design drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Perform lighting calculations, arc flash studies, power distribution design, and circuit and feeder calculations.
• Design layouts for power, telecommunications, security, and other building systems.
• Conduct field investigations to document existing conditions.
• Support project design and construction administration across education, municipal, healthcare, commercial, residential, and other building projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• 3–7 years of experience.
• Strong writing, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and collaborate with architects, engineers, project managers, and other disciplines.
• Professional communication and conduct in a team environment.

Nice to have

• EIT certification.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Background in the architecture and engineering consulting business.
