Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (On-Site Only)

Location: On-site in Brooklyn, New York, United States; first shift

Salary: USD 65,000–70,000 per year

What you will do

• Review Functional Capacity Outcomes and supporting documentation before client assessments.
• Conduct vocational assessments and reassessments within required timelines and according to Person First standards and HRA guidelines.
• Develop Individual Vocational Assessment Plans by collecting relevant information, identifying barriers, and defining actionable next steps.
• Discuss short- and long-term employment goals using vocational, aptitude, and industry-specific assessment tools.
• Provide resources, guidance, and referrals while coordinating with appropriate team members and VRS staff.
• Maintain detailed client records and timely documentation while supporting high-volume client flow.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, education, human resources, liberal arts, or a related field, plus at least two years of experience supporting individuals with diverse physical or behavioral health needs, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) credential required.
• Ability to comply with Person First standards, HIPAA, HRA requirements, and organizational policies.
• Experience managing high-volume caseloads in fast-paced, performance-driven environments.
• Strong customer service, client engagement, motivational communication, organization, and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of workforce development practices, applicable laws, accommodation needs, electronic systems, and case management platforms.

Nice to have

• Experience with publicly funded programs, especially TANF.
• Bilingual or multilingual communication skills.
• Familiarity with online vocational, interest, and aptitude assessments.
