Employment Specialist

Location: Spokane, Washington, USA; onsite with daily in-office work and community outreach

Salary: $23–$25.65 per hour

What you will do

• Conduct client assessments and interviews to determine eligibility and identify employment goals, barriers, and potential employer matches.
• Provide case management, employment coaching, and soft and hard skills development to help clients obtain and retain independent employment.
• Support clients in achieving employment at wages at or above minimum wage and document progress toward service and employment goals.
• Build relationships with employers, service providers, and community partners, and represent Compass at meetings and community events.
• Maintain knowledge of Developmental Disabilities Administration and Division of Vocational Rehabilitation requirements.
• Travel throughout the area, provide transportation to clients as needed, and use assigned technology in the community.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; a bachelor's degree in a social service field is preferred.
• At least 21 years of age and one year of related experience or training in employment services, particularly working with people in crisis.
• Valid driver's license, insurance, and access to a vehicle insured for the candidate as a driver.
• Strong communication, time management, self-starting, and problem-solving skills.
• Availability for a flexible Monday–Friday daytime schedule, with occasional nights and weekends.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office, Zoom, PC and Android devices; perform CPR and first aid as needed; and lift up to 50 lbs.
