TL;DR

Initial Resettlement Caseworker: Providing trauma-informed services to refugees and immigrants to support resettlement and self-sufficiency with an accent on individualized service planning and resource coordination. Location: Must be based in Abilene, TX, USA (Hybrid role involving office, remote, and field work).

Salary: $23.49/hr

What you will do

  • Coordinate pre- and post-arrival services including housing, medical care, and orientation.
  • Conduct client intakes and develop individualized self-sufficiency plans with SMART goals.
  • Manage direct financial assistance and applications for public benefits.
  • Monitor client progress and maintain detailed records in database systems.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external service providers to support client needs.
  • Travel within the service area to transport clients and materials as required.

Requirements

  • Must be based in or able to work in Abilene, TX.
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in human services.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a personal, insured vehicle.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital data entry tools.

Nice to have

  • Experience working with refugee or immigrant populations.
  • Proficiency in languages spoken by clients, such as Dari, Farsi, or Pashto.
  • Familiarity with database systems like ETO or IRIS.
