Part Time Finance Controller (Financial Planning and Business Performance): Providing financial leadership, performance analysis, and business partnering support for profitable growth and operational excellence with an accent on budgeting, forecasting, KPI management, cost control, and management reporting. Focus on challenging business assumptions, building scenario models, monitoring operational and overhead cost centres, and improving resource allocation and profitability.
Location: Manchester, UK; hybrid role, Monday–Friday, 09:00–14:00, 20 hours per week

What you will do
- Partner with the Managing Director, senior leadership, business line, and operations leaders on strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
- Translate strategic initiatives into measurable financial and operational targets, KPIs, and Business Target Management objectives.
- Provide data-driven analysis, scenario modelling, business case evaluations, and actionable recommendations.
- Monitor budgets, forecasts, profitability, operational and overhead cost centres, cost variances, and corrective actions.
- Lead monthly business reviews and deliver management reporting on performance, cost control, and strategic initiatives.
- Assess the financial impact of investments, expansions, space allocation, transformation projects, and workforce plans.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of management accounting, financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Experience with KPI development, profitability analysis, cost control, and business performance management.
- Ability to analyse complex financial data and provide clear, actionable business insights.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Experience supporting operational or commercial leaders and driving data-driven business performance.
- Qualified finance professional with ACA, CIMA, ACCA, or an equivalent qualification; commitment to continuing professional development.
