Service Tech (Agricultural Equipment)

Location: Billings, Montana, United States; local travel to customer locations is required 75–100% of the time, with outdoor service work 40–60% of the time.

Compensation: $19.23–$25.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Service, troubleshoot, repair, monitor, and adjust equipment and ingredient dispensing and control systems at customer locations.
• Provide technical assistance and training to customers to support proper equipment operation.
• Monitor product inventory and deliver products from the warehouse to customer locations as needed.
• Coordinate with operations management and operational business teams to support efficient product movement from manufacturers to customers.
• Travel in a company vehicle, maintain the vehicle and driving record, and complete required documentation.
• Provide after-hours and weekend support when required, including on-call coverage and overtime.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience servicing or operating equipment, preferably agricultural equipment.
• High school diploma required; technical school or college degree is preferred.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic devices, as well as Windows-based PCs.
• Strong troubleshooting, mathematical, analytical, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass criminal background, drug, and motor vehicle record checks.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds, occasionally climb ladders, and work on elevated equipment.

Nice to have

• Installation or operational experience with feed manufacturing, handling, and distribution.
• Knowledge of cattle feeding, feeding systems, feed ingredients, and feed formulation.
• Limited Spanish-speaking ability.
