Field Service Technician I - ORD

Location: Chicago, IL, USA; daily travel to customer sites in and around the Chicago Metro area, including ORD airport. Travel, overtime, and work outside Monday–Friday may be required.

Salary: $64,680–$87,560 per year, plus a competitive Business Profit Plan and benefits.

What you will do

• Install, repair, maintain, and troubleshoot field equipment, including Trace and X-Ray technologies.
• Meet daily service repair needs, provide technical support and customer training, and drive customer satisfaction.
• Document inspections, maintenance, repairs, open issues, parts usage, and customer reports.
• Manage repair parts, equipment performance data, tools, and test-equipment calibration.
• Recommend equipment improvements and support site surveys, pilot programs, service meetings, and service-sales opportunities.
• Follow health, safety, environmental, export-control, and security requirements while working at customer sites.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree, related electrical/electronic/mechanical trade certification, or equivalent military training; 1–3 years of related work and life experience may be accepted.
• 1–3 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical and electronic systems or equipment in a field-service role.
• Computer literacy, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn specialized software.
• Strong communication, organization, customer-service, teamwork, and multitasking skills; willingness to travel at short notice.
• Ability to lift or carry up to 80 pounds, push or pull up to 200 pounds, and move equipment weighing up to 1,000 pounds with appropriate devices.
• May require SSI access, TSA vetting, a federal background investigation, and a U.S. Personal Security Clearance.
