Plant Controller (Manufacturing Finance)

Location: Memphis, Tennessee, United States. Primarily on-site at the manufacturing plant, typically 4+ days per week and initially 5 days per week; hybrid flexibility may be considered after ramp-up.

What you will do

• Partner with the Plant Director and plant leadership to provide actionable financial insights and performance recommendations.
• Own plant budgeting, forecasting, driver-based outlooks, variance analysis, and recurring performance-management routines.
• Build and improve KPI dashboards and digital reporting tools covering labor efficiency, overhead absorption, scrap and rework, inventory health, and margin performance.
• Strengthen plant costing and standard-cost governance with Cost Accounting, without performing journal-entry booking or other accounting transaction processing.
• Support inventory performance, physical inventory execution, capex planning, ROI analysis, and post-investment benefit tracking.
• Lead cost-reduction initiatives and a small plant finance team while partnering with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Production, Accounting, Internal Audit, and IT/GPO.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline, or an equivalent background.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing finance, plant FP&A, cost or operations finance, or business partnering.
• Experience leading a small team while working as a hands-on individual contributor.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing financial drivers, plant KPIs, costing, inventory, working capital, and margin performance.
• Advanced analytical, financial modeling, scenario-analysis, communication, collaboration, and influencing skills.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ability to work on-site at a manufacturing location and visit operational areas.

Nice to have

• Experience with plant costing, standard-cost governance, annual physical inventories, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• SAP proficiency, particularly FI/CO and manufacturing-related modules or data flows.
• Experience with reporting or BI tools.
• MBA, CPA, CMA, or a similar certification.
