WW Engineering Specialist/Assistant Project Manager

Location: Waco, Texas, United States; full-time, office-based role.

Salary: $89,487.93–$102,271.92 per year

What you will do

• Support the planning, design, and delivery of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Lead or contribute technically to projects involving pipelines, pump stations, lift stations, treatment facilities, and utility improvements.
• Assist with scope, schedule, budget tracking, staffing coordination, client communication, and project status reporting.
• Prepare and review engineering reports, technical memoranda, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and permit applications.
• Coordinate with design teams, subconsultants, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Support quality control and construction-phase services, including RFIs, submittal reviews, site visits, and field observations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline.
• Professional Engineer license in Texas.
• Approximately 6+ years of experience in water/wastewater engineering.
• Experience designing municipal water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of project delivery, design standards, permitting, specifications, and construction documents.
• Strong communication, organization, coordination, and multitasking skills in a deadline-driven environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with pipelines, lift stations, pump stations, treatment plant improvements, or utility rehabilitation.
• Experience supporting project budgets, schedules, client updates, and team coordination.
• Familiarity with TCEQ requirements and Texas municipal utility standards.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, hydraulic modeling, or related design software.
• Interest in progressing into a full Project Manager role.
