Sr Principal RF Engineer

Salary: $115,800–$151,935 per year

What you will do

• Design advanced RF and high-speed digital physical-layer interconnects, matching networks, transmission lines, and power-delivery architectures.
• Develop and optimize electromagnetic and circuit-level simulation models using HFSS, ADS, AWR, and related tools.
• Correlate simulations with laboratory measurements and perform DC and AC power-integrity analysis.
• Lead hands-on evaluations with VNAs, TDRs, spectrum analyzers, wafer probers, and other high-frequency instrumentation.
• Develop RF calibration methodologies, including SOL, SOLR, SOLT, and multiline TRL.
• Influence product architecture and roadmaps, collaborate with mechanical, process, and product engineering, and mentor RF engineers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of electrical engineering experience focused on RF or high-speed digital physical-layer design, or equivalent experience.
• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience may be accepted.
• Strong experience with EM simulation, RF measurement techniques, PCB design, fabrication constraints, and signal integrity.
• Hands-on experience with VNA, TDR, and wafer-level RF measurements.
• Familiarity with on-wafer RF calibration techniques such as SOL, SOLT, SOLR, and TRL.
• Minimum experience may also be satisfied with a bachelor's degree and 8 years of related experience, a master's degree and 6 years, or a PhD and 3 years.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, PCIe, wireless, radar, or digital communications standards.
• Experience with automation, data processing, Python, or MATLAB.
