Senior RF PCB Layout Engineer (RF)

Location: Redwood City, California, United States; on-site. ITAR compliance requires U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain the required U.S. authorizations.

Salary: $125,000–$160,000 per year, plus equity-based compensation.

What you will do

• Own RF PCB layout from component placement through manufacturing release in Altium Designer.
• Define stack-ups, controlled-impedance routing, grounding, shielding, and isolation strategies.
• Translate schematic intent into layouts covering connector launches, transitions, filtering, and protection circuitry.
• Collaborate with RF, electrical, antenna, mixed-signal, mechanical, and test engineers on constraints and design reviews.
• Drive DFM/DFT activities, documentation, and release artifacts with fabrication and assembly partners.
• Support lab bring-up, RF characterization, troubleshooting, qualification, and environmental testing.

Requirements

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with PCB layout, fabrication, and release for RF or high-performance electronics.
• Experience with RF and microwave layout, controlled-impedance routing, launches, transitions, grounding, shielding, and isolation.
• Strong understanding of coupling, return paths, leakage, spurious paths, and stability risks in RF layouts.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment under significant time constraints.
• Must satisfy applicable ITAR work-authorization requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with Allegro or OrCAD in addition to Altium Designer.
• Experience with HFSS, CST, or ADS Momentum for EM and RF layout validation.
• Experience supporting VNA, spectrum-analyzer, and system-level RF testing.
