TL;DR
Shipping Team Manager - 3rd Shift (Manufacturing): Leading third-shift shipping operations in a manufacturing facility with an accent on safety, quality, productivity, inventory control, and employee engagement. Focus on implementing lean process improvements, troubleshooting operational issues, coaching team members, and executing standard work and continuous improvement activities.

Location: On-site in Greenfield, Indiana, USA; 3rd shift, 10:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m., Sunday night–Friday morning.

What you will do

  • Lead shipping operations and drive shift performance across safety, service, quality, productivity, cost, and inventory control.
  • Enforce Environmental, Health and Safety policies, coordinate required training, and lead safety incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Implement operational improvements that increase engagement and productivity, improve quality, and reduce scrap.
  • Ensure execution of standard operating procedures, standard work, quality standards, cycle counts, and safety and housekeeping audits.
  • Resolve technical and operational issues through troubleshooting, problem-solving, and process optimization projects.
  • Coach, counsel, review, and develop team members while facilitating Lean Sigma and Kaizen activities with support teams.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and at least 3 years of leadership, process improvement, and supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lead, coach, support, and develop a diverse team while promoting company values.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations systems, processes, technology, and Lean Sigma tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, delegation, teamwork, communication, time-management, and project-management skills.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions and physical requirements of the position.
  • Successful completion of a post-offer background check and drug screening is required.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Lean Sigma principles and Kaizen events.
