Maintenance Specialist

Location: Allentown, Pennsylvania, United States; onsite, full time

What you will do

• Coordinate and supervise maintenance for HVAC, chilled water, boilers, water distribution, compressed air, electrical, solar, fire protection, and wastewater systems.
• Run preventive and corrective maintenance programs, work orders, schedules, and asset records through a CMMS.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, control, and building systems and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Schedule and oversee contractors and vendors while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and operational requirements.
• Support facility improvements, renovations, laboratory modifications, and space reconfigurations.
• Respond to facility concerns, prioritize resources, and collaborate with employees, occupants, contractors, vendors, union-represented employees, and leadership.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least four years of experience in facilities maintenance, maintenance management, or facility operations.
• Experience coordinating maintenance activities and contractor services.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees, contractors, vendors, and leadership.
• Ability to build relationships and support customer and stakeholder needs.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, facilities management, construction management, or a related field.
• Experience with CMMS, corporate campuses, research laboratories, or similar facilities.
• Familiarity with Building Automation Systems and preventive maintenance programs.
• Experience in a union environment and knowledge of collective bargaining agreements.
