Lead Teacher - High

Location: Albany and Troy, New York, United States; work is based at KIPP Capital Region schools.

Salary: $56,000–$76,669 per year

What you will do

• Develop and implement rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum for grades 9–12 across subjects including English, math, science, social studies, physical education, and electives.
• Create lesson plans, unit plans, rubrics, and assessments, and evaluate student progress.
• Use learning data to guide instruction, provide daily feedback, and address individual learning needs.
• Build a positive, calm, inclusive classroom environment and uphold school values, culture, and student management policies.
• Collaborate with school staff, participate in meetings and professional development, and contribute to school-wide culture.
• Communicate with families, attend conferences and school events, and support students and colleagues outside regular business hours when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid New York State teaching license or willingness to pursue state certification.
• Two or more years of experience as a school educator preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule outside regular business hours.
• Ability to create and work within an inclusive environment that respects diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
