Design Drafter (Architectural Metals)

Location: Monett, Missouri, United States; mostly office-based with occasional manufacturing-floor visits and travel to other sites or corporate offices

What you will do

• Create accurate shop, fabrication, assembly, engineering, and production drawing packages using AutoCAD, computerized configurators, CTO Edit, and other applicable tools.
• Develop buildable plans from architectural and engineering concepts, including material specifications, bills of materials, and production information.
• Incorporate manufacturing input to support efficient fabrication and installation.
• File internal and external documents in the Architectural Metals electronic filing system.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and support engineering and manufacturing standards and procedures.
• Build knowledge of manufacturing processes and Architectural Metals product lines.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in a design- or engineering-related field.
• Basic understanding of architectural or mechanical drawings and contract documents.
• Progressive AutoCAD skills, including use of Architectural Metals standards and drawing formats.
• Ability to communicate issues clearly, visualize in 3D, perform basic algebra and geometry, and work independently or collaboratively.
• Strong attention to detail, task management, prioritization, and accuracy under deadlines; willingness to work additional hours when needed.
• Experience with AutoCAD or equivalent, PDF reader software such as Bluebeam, and Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.

Nice to have

• One or more years of experience in the architectural or commercial construction industry.
• Experience with 3D software such as Solid Edge, SolidWorks, or Inventor.
• Experience with ERP software such as Epicor.
