Entry Level-Lab Technician (Environment Testing)

Location: Edison, NJ, USA; full-time onsite schedule, Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Candidates must live within a commutable distance of Edison, NJ.

Salary: USD 17.50 per hour, with eligibility for benefits.

An international life sciences company providing analytical testing services across environmental, food, pharmaceutical, clinical, forensic, and other scientific fields.

What you will do

• Retrieve samples and perform preparation activities, including aliquoting, spiking and tracing, reagent preparation, concentration preparation, separation, and sonication.
• Prepare water-on-soil samples and perform digestion with concentrated acids for metals analysis.
• Set up liquid racks, resolve sample-labeling discrepancies, and maintain accurate analysis records and laboratory paperwork.
• Learn and use the laboratory information management system and mercury analysis procedures.
• Wash glassware, stock supplies, maintain equipment and work areas, and support other laboratory areas as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; high school chemistry coursework is preferred.
• Professional working proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, work independently, coordinate with others, and meet time and quality constraints.
• Knowledge of basic chemistry or general science, laboratory procedures, standard operating procedures, chemical hazards, and laboratory safety.
• Ability to use calculators and mathematical formulas, multitask, and work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive laboratory.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, carry up to 30 pounds, push or pull up to 200 pounds, and stand or stoop for extended periods.

Nice to have

• Basic laboratory experience.
• Previous production-oriented experience and familiarity with meeting deadlines.
• Experience or knowledge in metals preparation and analysis or wet chemistry.
