Laboratory Technician (Wednesday-Sunday 1st Shift) (Environmental Testing)

Location: Onsite in Edison, New Jersey, USA; candidates must live within a commutable distance. Full-time Wednesday–Sunday, 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

Salary: $17.50–$20.00 per hour, with a 15% shift differential.

What you will do

• Retrieve samples and prepare water and soil specimens for metals analysis.
• Perform aliquoting, spiking and tracing, reagent preparation, concentration preparation, separation, sonication, and acid digestion.
• Set up liquid racks and learn the laboratory information management system and mercury analysis procedures.
• Resolve labeling discrepancies and record results in paperwork, bench sheets, logbooks, and sample-tracking records.
• Wash glassware, stock supplies, clean work areas, and assist other laboratory areas.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Authorization to work indefinitely in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.
• Professional working proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
• Basic chemistry or general science knowledge, mathematical skills, organization, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently, follow written or verbal instructions, multitask, meet time and quality constraints, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive laboratory environment.

Nice to have

• High school Chemistry coursework.
• Basic laboratory experience.
• Previous production-oriented work and experience using TALS or another laboratory information management system.
