Laboratory Technician

Location: Edison, NJ, USA; candidates must live within a commutable distance. Full-time, Monday–Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm. Indefinite authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship is required.

Pay rate: $17.50 per hour

What you will do

• Retrieve samples and prepare water and soil samples for metals analysis.
• Perform aliquoting, spiking and tracing, reagent preparation, concentration preparation, separation, sonication, and acid digestion.
• Learn and use the TALS Laboratory Information Management System and support mercury analysis activities.
• Set up liquid racks, resolve labeling discrepancies, and document analysis results in laboratory records.
• Wash glassware, stock supplies, maintain work areas, and assist other laboratory areas.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Professional working proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking, is required.
• General knowledge of chemistry or science and basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to work independently, follow written or verbal instructions, multitask, and meet time and quality constraints.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, including coolers packed with ice.
• Authorization to work indefinitely in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.
