Underwriter II, Financial Institutions

Location: New York, United States; primarily in the office

Base salary: $75,000–$95,000 annually for positions based in New York. The role is also eligible for a bonus under the applicable incentive plan.

What you will do

• Select, monitor, and price new and renewal business within underwriting authority and company guidelines.
• Market insurance products and services and travel to assigned wholesale brokers as required.
• Communicate with brokers about rating, underwriting, and policy issuance matters.
• Support training for staff, interns, and personal assistants within the team and department.
• Coordinate special projects involving revised forms, new coverages, research, and underwriting guide updates.
• Represent the company at industry functions, conventions, and corporate events.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree.
• 2–4 years of experience in a commercial insurance company, agency, or brokerage, preferably in financial institutions.
• Working knowledge of US financial institutions, including product features, policy forms, regulatory environments, and risks.
• Experience building professional relationships and working with sales, marketing, and wholesale broker networks.
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment, adapt to changing requirements, and collaborate with varied colleagues.
• Comfort with analytical tools and technology, with willingness to learn on the job.
