Underwriting Specialist (Commercial P&C)

Location: Hybrid position with three days in the office and two days from home in the Dallas, Texas or Phoenix, Arizona office.

What you will do

• Underwrite and manage new and renewal commercial insurance accounts.
• Evaluate large and complex accounts and make risk selection, pricing, and negotiation decisions.
• Assess new business opportunities against profitability goals and risk appetite.
• Build and maintain relationships with agency partners to support account acquisition and retention.
• Track underwriting performance metrics and maintain thorough underwriting documentation.
• Use underwriting tools to support risk assessment and decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 3 years of commercial middle-market insurance underwriting experience, including exposure to large and complex accounts.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across the organization and with external customers.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and travel up to 10%.
