Assistant Vice President, Portfolio Manager (Commercial Banking)

Location: San Francisco, CA, United States; onsite, full-time

Salary: $115,435–$140,000 per year for new hires in San Francisco, with potential annual bonus or incentives and restricted stock.

What you will do

• Analyze, structure, underwrite, and coordinate the closing of major and complex commercial loans.
• Work with the Vice President, Commercial Banker, to monitor credit risk and manage the loan portfolio.
• Interface with clients to assess credit needs and determine appropriate financing structures and documentation.
• Prepare financing requests with the Relationship Manager for senior management or Loan Committee approval.
• Coordinate approved loan processing and servicing while ensuring compliance with customer agreements and lending policies.
• Resolve loan-processing issues and support underwriting, portfolio management, and portfolio-maintenance activities.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in portfolio management or a similar field.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Intermediate knowledge of commercial banking operations, including deposits, loan administration, treasury management, or related products.
• Intermediate knowledge of commercial credit, loan structuring, pricing dynamics, and applicable banking regulations.
• Completed credit analyst training and demonstrated intermediate written and verbal communication skills.
