Folder Gluer Machine Operator

Location: Kent, WA, USA; onsite, full-time, 2nd shift from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Salary: USD 23.25–36.25 per hour, plus a $2.00 per hour 2nd-shift differential and potential overtime, call-in, and stand-by pay.

What you will do

• Operate a variety of folder-gluer, binding, folding, cutting, collating, stitching, drilling, and auxiliary bindery machines.
• Set up and adjust automatic bindery and finishing equipment with multiple functions and workstations.
• Coordinate machine stations to process printed sheets into books, catalogs, manuals, directories, magazines, and other finished products.
• Inspect equipment for safety issues and maintain operating accuracy using standard and specialized tools.
• Direct the production crew through all aspects of manufacturing.
• Monitor product quality, output, and productivity.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret work orders and bindery specifications.
• Ability to calculate distances, clearances, and fits when combining machines.
• Skill in setting up, adjusting, and maintaining bindery machines for finishing operations.
• Knowledge of complex bindery equipment, including perfect binders, multi-station collators, and multiple folding units.
• Knowledge of folding, collating, cutting, gluing, and other finishing processes for coated and uncoated paper stock.
• Ability to refine machine settings according to paper weight, color, machinability, and quality.
