Asia Pacific (APAC) Privacy Manager

Location: Singapore; primarily office-based

What you will do

• Advise Asia Pacific business units and corporate functions on privacy policies, standards, procedures, applicable laws, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop, implement, and maintain the Asia Pacific privacy program, including policies, procedures, training, monitoring, and response plans.
• Support privacy governance activities involving data subject rights, regulatory and individual notifications, records of processing activities, privacy notices, and Privacy Impact Assessments.
• Partner with Legal, Compliance, regional privacy professionals, global privacy stakeholders, and other liaisons.
• Coordinate eDiscovery and forensic investigation approvals and support the Global Compliance Risk Control Self-Assessment process for Asia Pacific Privacy.
• Assess and supervise legal and compliance actions required before new technology, cloud, and mobile app implementations.

Requirements

• At least five years of privacy experience as a privacy professional, risk officer, or compliance officer in a corporate environment.
• Experience designing and implementing privacy processes and procedures, preferably in the insurance industry.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, presentation, relationship management, and influencing skills.
• Ability to summarize complex information clearly, identify critical issues and trends, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Competency with Microsoft Office 365, including Excel and PowerPoint, as well as data repository and presentation tools.
• Ability to work with diverse teams across Asia Pacific.

Nice to have

• Previous experience using OneTrust.
• IAPP certification such as CIPP/A, CIPP/US, CIPM, or hirify.globalP.
• Proficiency in Japanese.
• Interest in new technologies, devices, applications, the Internet of Things, data science, and artificial intelligence.
