Head of Legal - APAC (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid, based in Singapore or Sydney; candidates must have the right to work in the jurisdiction where they work.

What you will do

• Lead legal support for hirify.global’s activities and regulated operations across the APAC region.
• Advise regional leadership and cross-functional teams on commercial contracts, product and distribution arrangements, privacy, intellectual property, disputes, and corporate governance.
• Support licensing applications, regulatory approvals, renewals, reporting obligations, change management, audits, and regulatory engagement.
• Draft, review, and negotiate customer terms, supplier contracts, partnership agreements, referral arrangements, technology contracts, and outsourcing documentation.
• Manage relationships with external counsel across APAC jurisdictions and coordinate legal support for market entry, new products, and operational changes.
• Build the regional legal operating model, including templates, playbooks, approval processes, governance materials, and internal training.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with strong post-qualification experience, ideally gained in-house in fintech, payments, financial services, or another regulated environment.
• Significant experience advising on regulatory and licensing matters in one or more APAC markets.
• Strong experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements in a fast-paced business.
• Experience partnering with Compliance and Risk teams and engaging with regulators, external counsel, and internal stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of legal issues affecting regulated financial services businesses in APAC.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across multiple jurisdictions and functions.
