TL;DR
Environmental Compliance and Oversight Specialist (Environmental Management): Supporting RCRA/CERCLA/NEPA compliance, environmental monitoring, regulatory reporting, and sustainability initiatives in a regulated nuclear cleanup environment with an accent on environmental oversight, regulatory interpretation, and data QA/QC. Focus on producing regulator-ready compliance packages, providing technical assistance to Hanford operations, and managing complex compliance requirements across a high-stakes DOE program.

Location: Richland, Washington, United States; work is conducted predominantly on-site at the Hanford Field Office and Hanford Site, with some remote support as approved

Employment type: Full-time. The engagement may be structured as a contract-contingent role, contract W-2/IRS-1099 arrangement, or converted to a full-time hirify.global W-2 position.

What you will do

  • Support RCRA, CERCLA, and NEPA compliance activities for the Hanford Field Office.
  • Conduct environmental compliance oversight, monitoring, and regulatory reporting.
  • Provide technical assistance and program support for safety, environment, and quality activities.
  • Interpret regulations and perform data quality assurance and quality control.
  • Produce regulator-ready compliance packages and support sustainability initiatives.
  • Coordinate approved travel and field activities, including work requiring personal protective equipment.

Requirements

  • 5–10+ years of environmental compliance or remediation experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • HAZWOPER qualification.
  • Experience with regulatory interpretation, data QA/QC, and environmental compliance oversight.
  • Ability to work at the Hanford Field Office and Hanford Site in Richland, Washington.
  • Facility Clearance is required; DOE clearance may be required for specific classified work.
