Principal, Mechanical (P.Eng)

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; hybrid work opportunities available.

Base compensation: CAD 175,000–200,000 annually, plus performance incentives.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and manage a growing team of mechanical engineers and designers.
• Set performance plans and KPIs while overseeing hiring, training, retention, compensation, and career progression.
• Manage project budgets, revenue targets, labour forecasts, and operational metrics.
• Act as principal liaison for key clients, develop new project opportunities, and support contract negotiations.
• Oversee technical quality and delivery for mechanical systems, including procurement strategies, cost management, construction contract administration, and field reviews.
• Promote smart building systems, energy optimization, sustainability, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Requirements

• 15+ years of mechanical design experience, including major institutional projects.
• Proven team leadership experience with at least five direct reports.
• University degree or college/technology diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng) license in British Columbia through EGBC.
• Strong community or industry presence through conferences, white papers, or pro bono leadership.
