Project Associate (Building Science)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; hybrid. Travel up to 30% to client sites. A reliable vehicle and a valid Ontario Driver’s License are required.

Salary: CAD 65,000–70,000 per year, plus performance-based bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package.

What you will do

• Conduct construction field reviews, monitor progress against specifications and building codes, and prepare reports.
• Perform condition assessments, capital planning, and investigations for buildings and structures.
• Prepare analyses, designs, plans, details, working drawings, specifications, and terms of reference for renovations and modifications.
• Prioritize and deliver multiple projects from beginning to end with supervision from senior engineers.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, design teams, and contractors to maintain compliance, schedule, and budget.
• Investigate field and design difficulties and use engineering judgment to resolve project issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in applied science, architecture, engineering, or a related field from an accredited university.
• Working knowledge of building codes and standards.
• Project management, communication, organizational, and technical writing skills.
• Proficiency with relevant computer applications, including Word and Excel.
• Reliable vehicle and valid Ontario Driver’s License required for travel to client sites.
• Ability to work overtime when required and in active construction or restoration environments, including at heights or in confined spaces.

Nice to have

• Experience with concrete and masonry restoration, structural waterproofing systems, or structural steel restoration.
• Knowledge of related engineering disciplines.
