Project Design Specialist (Gas Turbine)

What you will do

• Design, iterate, and assess SGT-A35 gas turbine components against fit, form, function, and project requirements.
• Own mechanical designs throughout the lifecycle, from conceptual and detailed design through manufacturing optimization, implementation, and repair and overhaul.
• Produce DFMEAs, CAD models, schemes, technical presentations, specifications, design guidelines, and best practices.
• Collaborate with analytical and manufacturing specialists to develop optimized design solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge and skills development within the team.
• Perform root cause analysis for component field failures within areas of expertise.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Membership with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
• 5–10 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience with manufacturing environments, including castings, forgings, and conventional or advanced machining.
• Experience with CAD tools and the ASME Y14.5M standard or similar drawing standards.
• Fluent English is required for international documentation, technical terminology, and communication with customers, suppliers, and international colleagues. The work environment is French-speaking.
• Canadian export control requirements must be met if based in Canada.

• Experience with turbine aerofoils or structures and casings.
