Principal Mechanical Design Engineer (Semiconductor Test and Measurement)

What you will do

• Design and release precision mechanical components, characterization fixtures, validation structures, and mechanical assemblies.
• Support probe card mechanical design and architecture from detailed design through prototype build, validation, and production release.
• Build, inspect, assemble, and troubleshoot prototype hardware during development and validation.
• Create 3D CAD models, layouts, detailed drawings, and bills of materials for manufacturable designs.
• Perform tolerance studies, fit checks, design reviews, and basic finite element analysis.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, process, and R&D teams on root-cause analysis, product issues, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of related experience, or a master’s degree with at least 3 years of experience, or a PhD without experience, or equivalent experience.
• Strong proficiency in 3D CAD modeling, mechanical drawings, assemblies, and engineering documentation.
• Working knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, design for manufacturability, and mechanical assembly practices.
• Ability to work hands-on in laboratory, prototype build, inspection, or manufacturing environments.
• Experience with design reviews, engineering validation, troubleshooting, metrology, mechanical testing, and cross-functional problem solving.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to coordinate technical work across engineering and manufacturing teams.
