TL;DR
Senior FPGA Engineer (Aerospace): Developing FPGA circuits and systems for satellites, spacecraft, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other aerospace platforms with an accent on HDL-level design, verification, high-speed serial interfaces, digital processing cores, and multi-clock architectures. Focus on testing and validating FPGA designs, presenting engineering reviews to customers and executives, and supporting aerospace hardware proposals.

What you will do

  • Design and develop FPGA circuits and systems through all phases of the development process.
  • Create HDL designs for high-speed serial interfaces, data streams, digital processing cores, multiple clocks and clock domains, and management interfaces.
  • Perform FPGA testing, validation, verification, and deployment.
  • Use laboratory instruments to evaluate and validate hardware designs.
  • Present engineering design review materials to customers and the executive team.
  • Participate in proposal-writing efforts and cross-functional engineering work.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, qualifying protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of industry or university research experience designing, analyzing, and implementing FPGA systems at the HDL level.
  • Expertise in FPGA design and verification using Verilog, VHDL, HDL Coder, Xilinx Vivado, ModelSim, or comparable tools.
  • Hands-on experience with digital oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, and vector signal analyzers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

  • Aerospace design and qualification experience.
  • Worst-case, failure mode and criticality, and reliability analysis experience.
  • Board-level hardware design experience.
  • Familiarity with communications systems and digital signal processing.
