TL;DR

Sr. Network Systems Engineer (FPGA): Designing and verifying FPGA firmware for secure communications systems (COMSEC) within the In-Space Systems business unit with an accent on high-performance secure communication solutions. Focus on FPGA synthesis, timing analysis, and collaborating with hardware teams to deliver robust space-grade firmware.

Location: Denver, CO. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee/asylee. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance is required.

Salary: $181,626.00 - $254,275.35

What you will do

  • Design, develop, simulate, and verify FPGA firmware for COMSEC applications.
  • Define and document firmware architecture, requirements, and interfaces.
  • Perform FPGA synthesis, place-and-route, and timing analysis.
  • Support hardware bring-up, integration, and testing in lab and field environments.
  • Collaborate with circuit designers and embedded developers across the full development lifecycle.
  • Contribute to design reviews and technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in FPGA firmware development.
  • Proficiency in VHDL and/or Verilog/SystemVerilog.
  • Experience with FPGA toolchains such as Xilinx Vivado or Intel Quartus.
  • Strong understanding of digital design principles, timing constraints, and AXI bus implementations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.

Nice to have

  • Active Top Secret security clearance.
  • Experience in COMSEC, cryptographic systems, or secure communications.
  • Familiarity with high-speed serial interfaces (PCIe, SpaceWire, Ethernet).
  • Experience with DO-254 or other hardware development assurance standards.
  • Knowledge of zero-trust security architecture principles.
