Senior FPGA Engineer (Space Communications)

Salary: $140,000–$226,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Architect and implement FPGA networking and DSP blocks for high-rate phased-array antenna data.
• Lead digital hardware projects from prototyping and productization through deployment and operations.
• Define requirements, evaluate architectural trade-offs, and optimize resilient, high-speed communication links.
• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver systems for commercial and national security space missions.
• Analyze field-test data and resolve hardware-software integration issues in deployed ground stations.
• Improve system reliability and throughput through design updates and debugging.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience delivering complex digital hardware designs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar hardware-focused field.
• Strong Verilog/SystemVerilog skills for efficient, synthesizable designs.
• Experience with Python, FPGA-based DSP or networking, and FPGA SoCs with processors, peripherals, and custom logic.
• Hands-on proficiency with oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers for debugging high-speed FPGA designs.
• Ability to work onsite in Torrance and meet U.S. Government ITAR eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in C++ or Rust for performance-critical embedded software.
• Experience architecting high-performance PCBA designs with FPGA integration.
