Pipefitter Journeyman

Location: Nashville, Tennessee, United States; full-time, primarily shop-based work

hirify.global and its S.M. Lawrence subsidiary provide mechanical construction services, including prefabrication and installation of piping systems.

What you will do

• Fabricate and assemble mechanical piping systems for commercial construction projects.
• Read blueprints, specifications, weld symbols, and mechanical or structural drawings to determine scope, materials, quantities, and procedures.
• Cut, thread, bend, fit, position, and assemble carbon steel, stainless steel, and copper piping components.
• Install hangers, supports, valves, and other components, and perform leak tests to verify system quality.
• Use grinders, drills, beveling machines, rigging equipment, forklifts, and overhead cranes.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment while working at heights, lifting up to 50 lbs, and traveling to projects as needed.

Requirements

• Approximately 5 years of experience with pipe fitting processes is preferred.
• Ability to interpret technical and manufacturer manuals, ISO documentation, blueprints, weld symbols, and weld procedures.
• Basic mechanical aptitude, mathematical skills, and English language skills are required.
• Ability to work from ladders and man lifts, operate related equipment, and perform physically demanding work safely.
• Must complete a company-specific welding, soldering, and/or brazing test for employment.
• Ability to pass background, drug, physical ability, and applicable MVR checks, or provide reliable transportation.

Nice to have

• Welding certification.
