Senior Pipefitter (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Fabricate and fit process piping, utility systems, and other ground support infrastructure for the Terran R launch site.
• Install piping systems safely, accurately, and according to quality standards in shop and field environments.
• Measure, lay out, cut, bevel, grind, drill, fit up, align, and prepare pipes, fittings, flanges, valves, and supports.
• Fabricate and install carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy, and other piping systems.
• Identify and resolve fit-up, alignment, dimensional, and installation issues in the field.
• Coordinate with other trades and lead or mentor less-experienced pipe fitters.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional pipe fitting, fabrication, construction, or mechanical experience with industrial piping systems.
• Ability to independently read and interpret isometric drawings, P&IDs, blueprints, spool drawings, dimensions, elevations, and piping specifications.
• Ability to meet project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
• Ability to safely operate or direct the use of forklifts, reach lifts, man lifts, rigging equipment, and other industrial equipment.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in industrial environments.
• Successful candidates must clear a background check administered by the US government to obtain clearance for on-site work at the Cape Canaveral government partner location.

Nice to have

• Experience with industrial piping fabrication, installation, maintenance, commissioning, shutdowns, or turnaround work.
• Experience with complex piping systems, equipment connections, and specialized piping materials.
• Experience in aerospace, power generation, shipbuilding, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, or other highly regulated industrial environments.
• Experience with hydrostatic or pressure testing, flushing, system turnover, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Previous experience as a lead pipe fitter, foreman, or crew lead.
