Controls Project Manager (HVAC)

Location: Parkville, Missouri, United States; full-time work in an office setting and on a manufacturing floor.

What you will do

• Implement project plans and manage engineering initiatives across the product development lifecycle.
• Own product development timelines, provide status updates, resolve minor inconsistencies, and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with product management and engineering to align projects with design intent, timelines, and business objectives.
• Support documentation, technical support, and training teams preparing new product releases and enhancements.
• Coordinate development of products and enhancements using modern embedded computer control platforms.
• Track project budgets and schedules, review shortfalls with management, and define recovery mechanisms.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an applicable engineering discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience in controls or HVAC systems.
• 3–5 years of experience in HVAC controls, product development, or technical project management.
• Experience or training in project management focused on product development cycles; the role does not directly manage people.
• Experience using project management tools such as Monday.com and DevOps for design reviews, phase gates, risk monitoring, and release readiness.
• Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work in an office and on a manufacturing floor, travel as required, and perform the listed physical and visual requirements.

Nice to have

• Understanding of HVAC operation, including airflow, refrigeration, speeds, pressures, temperatures, and related equipment functions.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Familiarity with UL, ETL, Modbus, ISO, and similar regulatory or industry standards.
