Manufacturing Operations Project Manager II

Location: Houston, TX (TAS-AIRPORT). Full-time position based at the manufacturing facility; the role is performed at least 80%–90% at a desk and involves inside working conditions.

What you will do

• Independently plan, execute, and deliver moderate-scope manufacturing and operations projects.
• Develop production and project execution plans aligned with contractual, financial, and operational objectives.
• Lead cross-functional coordination across manufacturing, engineering, purchasing, quality, logistics, production planning, and project management.
• Own cost and schedule performance, including CPI/SPI analysis, ETC/EAC forecasting, recovery planning, and corrective actions.
• Assess and mitigate risks involving labor, materials, capacity, design maturity, vendors, constructability, and sequencing.
• Develop labor forecasts, resource plans, work breakdown structures, shop-drawing redlines, and engineering change notices.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of progressive experience in manufacturing, operations, or project execution in a heavy or industrial environment.
• Experience independently managing projects or major work scopes and leading cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• Knowledge of fabrication, welding, assembly, labor budgets, ETC/EAC forecasting, bills of material, work orders, and MRP systems.
• High proficiency in blueprint reading and P&ID interpretation, including the ability to read engineering drawings.
• Experience with Lean or other waste-elimination processes and ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, or qualifying military leadership or technical experience in lieu of the degree.

Nice to have

• Experience in modular manufacturing.
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
• Knowledge of Primavera or MS Project.
