Preconstruction Project Manager (Solar): Leading preconstruction delivery for utility-scale solar, battery storage, and high-voltage substation projects from notice of award through mobilization with an accent on scope, budget, schedule, procurement, and EPC contract coordination. Focus on reconciling estimates, managing project risk, negotiating scope and commercial terms, and coordinating engineering, procurement, construction, accounting, legal, owners, vendors, and subcontractors.

Location: Full-time onsite in the San Diego, California office, United States. Travel is estimated at 25%.

Salary: $110,448–$138,060 per year.

What you will do

  • Lead daily preconstruction management and coordinate project scope, budget, schedule, and mobilization activities.
  • Maintain cost control ledgers, job cost statements, forecasts, estimates at completion, project schedules, and billings.
  • Prepare bid packages, solicit and evaluate bids, coordinate procurement, and release long-lead items during the LNTP phase.
  • Develop LNTPs, project procedures, contract scopes of work, and contract exhibits through final EPC execution.
  • Review plans and design requirements, track changes affecting budget or schedule, and support estimating reconciliation across design iterations.
  • Manage project risks, represent hirify.global in owner meetings, and support negotiations covering final EPC budget, scope, and schedule.

Requirements

  • Degree in engineering, construction management, or architecture, or equivalent experience.
  • 5–8 years of field experience, including Project Engineer or Assistant Superintendent experience, and 5+ years of construction experience.
  • At least 2 years of scheduling and estimating experience.
  • Thorough understanding of plans and specifications, with fundamental knowledge of contract law and project accounting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, interpersonal, and computer skills, including Microsoft Office and industry tools such as Bluebeam Revu.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future.
