Claim Specialist - Auto/Property - Hybrid

Location: Bloomington, Illinois, United States. Hybrid work with time split between home and the office; training may require a higher percentage of in-office time. Flexible shifts, overtime, and irregular hours may be required.

Salary: $63,089.65–$71,710 annually, plus potential yearly incentive pay of up to 15% of base salary.

What you will do

• Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle auto and property insurance claims.
• Apply insurance policies, regulations, and claim-handling practices to determine coverage, liability, and damages.
• Handle high-volume inbound and outbound calls, written correspondence, and electronic customer interactions.
• Assess damages, estimate repair costs, and negotiate settlements across auto and property claim areas.
• Manage task-driven queues and multiple technical platforms in a fast-paced call center environment.
• Support customers through personalized, clear, and empathetic claims interactions.

Requirements

• Experience as a claim specialist in auto and/or property insurance is preferred.
• Knowledge of auto and/or property insurance policies, coverage, and claim-handling practices.
• Proficiency with CCC, Xactimate, XactContents, and similar estimating or evaluation tools.
• Familiarity with applicable state or local regulations and compliance requirements.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, critical-thinking, decision-making, organizational, and de-escalation skills.
• Successful completion of required training, applicable proficiency and licensing examinations, and background checks.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
• Significant relevant claims experience for consideration at the upper end of the salary range.
