Inspection Technical Assistants

Location: Douglassville, Pennsylvania, with field locations in the Lehigh Valley, Northeastern Pennsylvania, and Philadelphia regions. The role requires travel to construction sites, project offices, materials plants, and testing laboratories, including assignments in Carbon County, and may require nights and weekends.

Salary: $55,267–$62,803 per year.

What you will do

• Review contractor procedures, materials, and completed work for conformance with plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Prepare inspection reports, quantity calculations, and documentation for work in progress and completed work.
• Witness and document materials testing and certification processes.
• Assist clients and construction management teams with tracking activities, operations status, payments, and change orders.
• Communicate project activities and issues to supervisors, managers, clients, and stakeholders.
• Identify and help resolve construction issues while following highway, bridge, company, project, and OSHA safety requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to travel to and safely navigate highway and bridge construction sites by vehicle and on foot.
• Valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and ability to safely drive in and around construction zones and detour routes.
• Basic computer skills with Excel, Word, and Outlook, plus ability to learn internal and client documentation applications.
• Math skills for linear, area, and volume measurements and construction quantity calculations.
• Willingness to attend training, maintain certifications, and work nights or weekends when project schedules require it.

Nice to have

• Post-secondary coursework in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• PennDOT TA-TCI training modules or NICET Highway Construction Level I/II certification.
• ACI Concrete Field Technician or NECEPT Asphalt and Concrete Field Technician certification.
• Training in stormwater management, guiderail and attenuator installation, traffic control, or OSHA construction safety.
