Instrument & Electrical Technician (Petrochemical)

Location: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; legally entitled to work in Canada required

What you will do

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical, instrumentation, analytical, and control systems in a continuous process facility.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, including troubleshooting and fault isolation.
• Support PLC and DCS systems, loop tuning, calibration, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Read electrical schematics, P&IDs, loop drawings, logic diagrams, and blueprints.
• Maintain work orders and maintenance records in SAP and contribute to reliability, asset integrity, and continuous improvement.
• Provide technical support during turnarounds, outages, plant upsets, and occasional work at other Canadian or U.S. facilities.

Requirements

• Journeyperson Instrumentation Technician certification.
• Journeyperson Electrician certification with Red Seal.
• Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s licence and clean driving record.
• Ability and willingness to work overtime and participate in a rotating on-call schedule at a 24/7 facility.
• Strong commitment to EH&S, regulatory compliance, safe work practices, troubleshooting, and documentation.
• Must be a Canadian citizen or otherwise legally entitled to work in Canada.

Nice to have

• Industrial maintenance experience in petrochemical, chemical, oil and gas, power generation, or manufacturing environments.
• Experience with Siemens DCS/PLC or other distributed control systems and industrial automation.
• Proficiency with SAP PM, Microsoft Office, and industrial maintenance systems.
• Experience working independently and with multidisciplinary maintenance teams.
