System Administrator (Azure)

Location: Fully remote; candidates in the Eastern Time Zone are preferred.

What you will do

• Own technical ticket intake, triage, escalation, and resolution against defined SLAs.
• Diagnose hardware, software, network, account-access, VPN, and remote-connectivity issues for employees and hosting customers.
• Administer Windows and Linux servers, customer hosting workloads, scheduled jobs, batch file processes, storage, services, logs, SSH keys, and sudo access.
• Manage Azure Virtual Desktop and RD Web infrastructure, including host pools, session hosts, images, application groups, workspaces, FSLogix profiles, capacity, autoscaling, and user sessions.
• Administer Entra ID, Active Directory, SSO, MFA, Conditional Access, Microsoft 365 collaboration services, endpoints, licenses, and privileged credentials.
• Lead incident communications, onboarding and offboarding, access reviews, patching, backup validation, knowledge-base maintenance, reporting, and routine automation with Bash and PowerShell.

Requirements

• 2+ years of IT support or system administration experience, including production Linux administration and Windows server maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Desktop, virtualization, networking protocols, VPNs, and remote connectivity.
• Administration experience with Entra ID and on-premises Active Directory, including SSO, MFA, and Conditional Access.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 collaboration services, SaaS license management, endpoint deployment, MDM, software packaging, and patching.
• Experience with backups, restore testing, disaster recovery playbooks, ITSM ticket queues, and defined SLAs.
• Ability to work in a SOC 2 and HIPAA-regulated environment, produce audit evidence, communicate clearly with non-technical users, and participate in a Tier 1 on-call rotation; a bachelor's degree in IT, Software Development, or a related field is required.
