Salary: $79,979.92–$102,831.32 per year

What you will do
- Support the planning, design, analysis, and delivery of Overhead Contact Systems for light rail, commuter rail, high-speed rail, and heavy rail projects.
- Prepare OCS plans, profiles, details, construction documents, technical specifications, design reports, cost estimates, and engineering studies.
- Perform calculations for catenary geometry, wire tensions, pole and foundation loading, support structures, clearances, and system interfaces.
- Assist with the design of cantilevers, portals, headspans, and bracket assemblies.
- Coordinate designs with track, traction power, civil, structural, signals, communications, and construction disciplines.
- Support field investigations, inspections, QA/QC reviews, construction activities, testing, commissioning, and startup.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, structural, or related engineering.
- 2–6 years of relevant engineering experience in OCS, rail electrification, traction power, utility or power systems, structural engineering, or transportation infrastructure.
- Working knowledge of engineering principles for overhead contact systems and supporting infrastructure.
- Experience preparing engineering drawings and design documents.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work within multidisciplinary project teams and support project schedules, budgets, and technical deliverables.
Nice to have
- EIT certification and a goal of obtaining a Professional Engineer license.
- Knowledge of RISA or MathCAD for support structure analysis.
- Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, OpenRail, Bentley products, or ProjectWise.
- Familiarity with OCS support systems, AC/DC traction power, utility coordination, construction support, commissioning, AREMA, and APTA standards.
- Experience with field inspections or construction oversight.
